If you have decided that it is time to start diffusing more essential oils in the home, then you have probably already started researching what the best diffuser would be for your needs. Today, we will go over the more popular types of diffusers to give you a clear idea about which one would be better suited for your home and your needs.

Nebulizing Diffusers

These oil diffusers are often the most popular and commonly used because they don’t require any heat or water to work, and they contain no plastic. Instead, they work off of pressurized air and oil. An air stream blows across a small tube and this creates a vacuum to pull the oil to the surface. The oil is then blown into the air in the form of a fine mist.

They are easy to use and also distributes the essential oils into the air evenly. It allows for a large amount of the essential oils you need to enter the air.

Ultrasonic Diffusers

These types of diffusers also allow for a fine mist to disperse into the air, but they work through electronic frequencies. These frequencies create ultrasonic vibrations that break up the molecules and allow for their dispersion into the air. This type of diffuser uses water in addition to the essential oils, which means the oils will be slightly diluted. You also need to make sure that your ultrasonic diffuser is cleaned regularly, so it continues to work as it should.

Evaporative Diffusers

These diffusers are affordable and offer very quiet operation. However, since heat is used, the chemical composition of the essential oils you are using may be changed. Higher levels of heat often make the scent much more intense while lower levels allow for a subtle scent while not changing the chemical compounds as much as high heat.

Heat Diffusers are very similar to evaporative diffusers because they both use heat to release the essential oils. And again, the higher the heat, the more the compounds of the essential oils you are using change which may make them less effective.

Nebulizing diffusers are the best option for diffusing essential oils because the oils stay intact. It allows for the scent while keeping all of the beneficial properties of your essential oils as they should be.

Meta: while there are many diffuser options available, those that use heat and water may either change the chemical compounds of the oil or dilute it making it less effective
